At Cargo-Force we have years of experience when it comes to customs service and clearance. In fact we provide a comprehensive customs clearance as well as import advice to our esteemed customers. Our long association has meant we have a direct link with the HM Customs and Excise office. This allows us to pass goods through their channels faster with more efficiency. Customs can be really simple for some and highly complex to few as well.
By importing it means to bring in goods to a country like the UK. When it comes to imports the goods you want to bring it falls into any of the two categories commercial and gifts. While the former as the name suggests includes the goods you bring in for commercial exploitation the items which you bring in for your own use or as gifts fall into the latter category. Commercial imports from outside EU states are subjected to clearance protocols as well as may incur taxes and other duties like VAT (Value added tax) etc. Gifts and personal goods are usually allowed to be brought in for free with exceptions in certain cases. Intra-EU consignments usually are not subjected to customs clearance issues and have a much easier time.
Non-EU goods which need to pay import duties and other charges may be kept at custom approved warehouses without payment of the fees. But charges must be paid (can be even paid in a deferred basis) when one moves the goods out of the specified warehouse. This can be very advantageous for companies who do not want to take delivery of goods just yet and can afford to wait a while before they formally take delivery of the consignment.
Special zones where one can take your goods in without payment of any taxes. Available when is approved excise approved activity in the facility.
Goods can also be cleared at inland depots. Customs clearance can be taken care of here.
ERTS are another place to clear your goods after ports and airports. The goods are first kept in temporary storage and then clearance after customs clearance is available.
